Marion County Sheriff’s Department, 2023-present

• Chief Deputy Sheriff

Oversees and supervises Jail, Patrol and Criminal Investigation Divisions and law enforcement operations for a county law enforcement agency with approximately thirty-five (35) employees in north central Arkansas. Administrative duties include budget preparation, equipment acquisition, fleet management, training management, and CLEST Administrator.

Arkansas State Police, 1985-2021

• Criminal Investigation Division, Major, Division Commander

Supervised six (6) CID Companies, Special Investigations Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Arkansas State Fusion Center, Digital Evidence Laboratory, and civilian support personnel; approximately one hundred ten (110) personnel. Additional duties included serving as the Arkansas State AMBER Alert Coordinator responsible for receiving requests and issuing AMBER Alerts. Represented the Director on various committees to include Attorney General’s Missing Person Task Force and the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force (Secret Security Clearance). Administrative duties that included division level budgeting for equipment acquisition, travel, training, and federal grants.

• Criminal Investigation Division, Captain, Commander CID Field Operations

Supervised six (6) CID Companies, Special Investigations Unit, and civilian support personnel; approximately one eighty-five (85) personnel. Additional duties included serving as the Arkansas State AMBER Alert Coordinator responsible for receiving and issuing AMBER Alerts.

• Criminal Investigation Division, Lieutenant, Company Commander

Supervised sergeants and special agents assigned to a fourteen (14) county area located in north central Arkansas. Served as Incident Commander at major crime scenes and incidents across the Company area.

• Highway Patrol Sergeant

Supervised Highway Patrol troopers in both Troop “B” and Troop “I.”

• Criminal Investigation Division Sergeant

Supervised CID special agents and conducted criminal investigations in an eight (8) county area in north central Arkansas. Routinely worked with other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, providing investigative assistance when requested.

• Criminal Investigation Division Special Agent

Conducted all types of criminal and special investigations while assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division and provided investigative assistance to local, state, and federal agencies when requested. Participated in MORGAN NICK kidnapping investigation, former Secretary of State BILL MCCUEN public corruption investigation, HEATH STOCKS triple homicide investigation, ROBERT TODD BIRMINGHAM (Blue Light Rapist Task Force) rape investigation, KRISTIN LAURITE serial murder investigation and the DAVID MILLSTEIN homicide investigation.

• Highway Patrol Trooper

Conducted patrol duties, investigated crashes, provided motorist assists, enforced traffic and criminal laws while assigned to Troop “I” Highway Patrol.

Additional Duty Assignment- SWAT Operator/Team Leader- performed SWAT operations and conducted training on the statewide SWAT team as a team leader and one (1) of thirteen (13) original members of the Arkansas State Police SWAT team.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department, 1982-1985

• Corrections Deputy

Supervised and guarded detainees confined in the Pulaski County Detention Center.

Conducted patrol duties in the unincorporated areas of Pulaski County as a deputy sheriff.

Military Experience

• Retired from the Arkansas Army National Guard as a Sergeant First Class (SFC) after serving twenty (20) years.

• Mobilized for Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm in 1991 and Deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008

• Deployed to Iraq with the 39th Infantry Brigade and conducted over 10,000 miles of convoy escort missions across western Iraq (Anbar Province).

Miscellaneous

• Worked as a contract Consultant for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) in 2022-2023. Provided assistance to law enforcement agencies with missing children investigations and providing support to families of missing children, and providing law enforcement related presentations as required.

• Adjunct instructor for the University of Arkansas system, teaching “Homicide Investigation” for the Criminal Justice Institute since 2016.

• I am currently completing my Senior year of my undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Arkansas Little Rock.
